Delivering strategic clarity, empowering teams, and boosting digital performance in just nine months
The background & challenge
When I was brought in to support this well-established UK-based business in the professional services sector, they were already doing a lot—but without clear direction or alignment. The business specialised in supporting high-growth technology scale-ups, with a reputation for excellence and a track record to match. Despite having a marketing assistant, and a PR agency in place, their marketing efforts were falling short of expectations.
Social media was underutilised and lacked consistency, website traffic had taken a dip following a refresh, and there was no clear way to measure performance or track return on effort. Marketing felt reactive rather than intentional, and internal teams were struggling to make a meaningful impact.
The solution
Providing marketing consultancy and mentorship over several months, I provided both the strategic leadership and hands-on support needed to get their marketing on track.
My first priority was to establish clear direction. I developed a set of targets and KPIs that tied directly to the business’s commercial goals. With a solid framework in place, we were able to make smarter, faster decisions and ensure every marketing activity had a purpose.
Next, I tackled the content. I focused on improving what they already had—repurposing high-quality materials, boosting SEO performance, and building a structured content plan to maintain momentum. This helped the team get more value from existing assets while improving visibility and reach.
I also invested time in the people behind the marketing. I ran training sessions on LinkedIn best practices, content creation and performance tracking to build the internal team’s confidence and capabilities. My aim wasn’t just to deliver results—it was to make sure they could sustain them long after I stepped away.
One of the key wins came from a deep dive into their website. I conducted a full audit, identified technical issues, and worked through a series of SEO improvements that helped reverse declining traffic and improve user experience.
The results
Within months, we started seeing powerful results. Once the strategy was implemented, LinkedIn impressions significantly increasing visibility among key audiences.
Internally, the team became more confident and capable. We streamlined content creation, improved overall brand consistency, and set up processes that made marketing more efficient and sustainable. What had once been a reactive, scattergun approach became a proactive, audience-first strategy that delivered real business value.
By the end of the nine months, I’d helped position the business for future growth—with a strong digital presence, a well-equipped internal team, and a clear path forward. It was a rewarding project that proved just how powerful marketing can be when it’s aligned with strategy, driven by data, and supported by the right people.
This project was a great reminder that even well-resourced teams need the right strategy and leadership to bring it all together. By stepping in with a clear plan, building internal confidence, and aligning marketing with business goals, I helped turn a fragmented approach into a focused engine for growth. It’s proof that with the right support, marketing can become a powerful driver of long-term success.
